Support Irene Riesen fighting a Brain Tumour
Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Nicole Riesen, I am the sister in law of the lovely person in the picture.
On August 19, 2020, Irene Riesen and her family received devastating news: Irene was diagnosed with a brain tumour after experiencing a severe headache and stroke like symptoms that required emergency care. The tumour (or as her family calls it “the gremlin”) was the size of a fist and wrapped around her brain stem. Irene’s medical team recently removed as much of the tumour as possible and she is stable. However, her recovery and future health remain unclear.
For those of you that don’t know Irene personally, she is a beautiful soul. Irene’s passion is to play and teach the violin and has touched many peoples heart with her playing. She is remarkably genuine and selfless. When her mother, Elisabeth, suffered a stroke a few years ago she did everything in her power to help her mother recover and function day to day. Until her health scare and diagnosis, Irene primarily focused on caring for her mother and contributing financially to their living expenses.
Now that Irene is in recovery and the future remains unclear, the family is concerned about the financial stress this may put on Elisabeth and Irene. We want to ensure Irene can focus on her recovery and not worry about any financial concerns. So, the funds raised through this GoFundMe campaign will supplement the loss of Irene’s income, travelling costs to the Hospital and back, and any unforeseen medical related expenditures.
Irene and the entire Riesen family would like to acknowledge how much support they have already received through family, friends, and their spiritual network. Every single act of love has given the Riesen family much comfort and strength during this difficult time.
We pray that Irene’s future will be guided by God and that she can fully return to her passions: faith, music, all things Swiss, travelling, baking, being an adored Tanti, and making happy memories with family and friends.
Thank you for your immense support and please keep Irene in your prayers and thoughts. We will continue to update this page and Facebook as we know more about Irene’s condition.
Love,
The Riesen Family
