In Support of Donna Sanborn

My name is Megan Garretson and I have been a friend of Donna and Sandy Sanborn for over 10 years. They are truly the kindest individuals I have ever met, and they have gone out of their way to support others in the community over the years. I have always said they were the rocks of Rosemary Drive where we all live – hosting block parties, acting as the neighborhood watch and always willing to help babysit, etc.…

On Sandy’s 80th birthday, Donna was diagnosed with Metastatic Cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). Donna was initially given a few weeks to live with no treatment. She opted recently to start chemotherapy at Rhode Island Hospital. It has been a challenging few years leading up to this diagnosis for both of them but nothing could have shocked them more than hearing those words earlier this week.

Things haven’t been easy, but Donna is powering through, with a smile on her face and love in her heart as she prepares for the start of chemotherapy and further testing and procedures in the weeks and months ahead. Donna has been Sandy’s caretaker for 56 years and they celebrated 53 years of marriage on January 24th.

All funds donated will go directly to Donna and Sandy to be used to pay for uncovered medical expenses, treatments and living expenses. We appreciate anything you can provide for them during this difficult time.
