Pure Love for Lisa & Dan...

To know Dan and Lisa Kirk is to know pure love, generosity, intelligence, creativity, kindness, and care...

 

These new grandparents are soul mates, who are one another’s main source of strength and stability. They have humbly, quietly, and bravely been walking through Dan’s journey with Bladder Cancer since 2019. His treatment is ongoing...

 

...And now Lisa has been suddenly and unexpectedly diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. She will be undergoing surgery in the next few weeks followed by chemo and possibly radiation treatments.

 

 

Dan is a well-loved, kind-hearted, and creative former Middle School teacher, an avid poet and organizer of local poetry and spoken word showcases. Dan retired shortly before his bladder cancer diagnosis and had to forgo his plan of working as a Teacher-on-Call these last few years while he has undergone treatments.

 

Lisa is a well-known local artist and the creator of Pure Process art classes. A former nurse and gifted teacher, Lisa is known by her students as a creativity doula. She has spent the last 20+ years honing her facilitation skills and guiding many in their creative and spiritual journeys of artistic self discovery and transformation. Of course, at this time, Lisa’s classes are on hold.

 

The road ahead holds a lot of unknowns for this amazing couple and some extra funds during this time when neither is able to be working will offer some sense of comfort and stability.

 

Dan and Lisa are both givers... and as givers they would be quite unlikely to be asking for this help on their own. But now is time for them to be on the receiving end of the love, care, kindness, and positive energy they have both continuously given to our community these last 30 + years!
