Caroline LoNigro graduated from Penn State in May 2020 with a bachelors in Security Risk Analysis and focused on Intelligence Analysis and Modeling. She was a charismatic soul always bringing joy to others. Caroline loved everyone for who they were.
Caroline was the type of person that's hard to explain to others. She was simply the type of person you just had to meet to understand. She was Caroline. A wild hearted, country loving, fireball queen. Full of humor and love. You never knew what you were getting into with her. That was the exciting part - she kept you on your toes. She would tackle you with a hug when you unexpectedly saw her out. She poked fun at herself and made light out of every situation. She spoke her mind and was unapologetically herself. She danced. She laughed. She confidently rocked cowboy boots. Once 21 you could catch her at Pickles every Tuesday night for country night. You could also find her at the Phyrt and Gaff every weekend dancing and laughing with friends. When she drank her accent would come out full force. But that was Caroline. Outgoing, fun, and lovable.
Caroline loved Penn State more than most people. She worked on campus as a learning assistant for SRA 268 & SRA 468, was a founder of her own club the National Security Club, was always ready for every Penn State game, was an active in her sorority Phi Sigma Rho and held many positions, and loved fundraising for THON. Caroline loved to spend time at the IST building, Phi Rho floor with her sisters, the gym where she worked, and the Arboretum.
Even though her life was cut short she wouldn't want anyone to be sad. She would want others to live their lives to the fullest. Just as she brought joy to us, we want her to continue bringing joy to others. We want to dedicate a tree in the Penn State Arboretum to Caroline. A beautiful tree that will continue to bring joy and beauty to others. She was a giving person and she would want something that continued to give. Something that gives to others and gives back to the earth. She gave so much to Penn State and to others through her friendship and kindhearted nature. We want her spirit to continue to bring joy to others as she would want.
The proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to a tree that will be planted in Caroline's honor.
