Dwight Maurice Nutting Junior passed away at St. Vincent’s Hospital on December 5, 2021 following a battle with Covid-19. He was born on February 11, 1981 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and grew up in Durand, Michigan. During high school, his family moved to Jupiter, Florida. He was married to Rachel Spiegel Nutting on June 27, 2014 at Olander Park in Sylvania, OH.
Dwight was preceded in death by his mother, Jo Marie Nutting, brother, Michael Hayden, and legal guardians, Larry and Marilyn Hayden. He is survived by his father, Dwight Nutting Sr. (Tina), sister, Theresa, his beloved wife, Rachel Nutting, precious children Ashton, Emily, Isabella, Arielle and Michael and his special mother-in-law, Ellen Spiegel. He is also survived by cousins Lynn and Sheri Hayden, Ashton’s grandparents, Dan and Cathy Frick as well as brother-in-law, Josh Spiegel and his family.
Dwight graduated from Jupiter High School in Jupiter, Florida, received an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Davis College and attended Lourdes University. He operated Fingerprints Too Daycare Center. Dwight was employed by UPS in Maumee as a sorter for 16 years. He was a past member of the Commanders of Harmony Barbershop Singing Chorus as well. You could find Dwight on Cedar Point’s rollercoasters in the summer, chasing thunderstorms, working with children, and playing video games with friends and family. He loved playing the piano and enjoyed Michigan State sports. His family was everything to him and they will miss him terribly! Dwight was always helping others and had a big smile on his face. He made the world around him better for his presence.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. at the Church on Strayer, 3000 Strayer Road, Maumee, Ohio. The Memorial Service will commence at 10 a.m. with a luncheon following the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider the needs of the family.
