In Plain Sight
Hi, my name is Liam Strong and I’m a Wildlife Filmmaking Masters student at UWE. Getting to capture and tell the stories of incredible animals and areas of the world is what I’m interested in, and right now I’m focusing on the elusive San Joaquin Kit Fox. These endangered little guys live in California's Central Valley where they are perfectly suited to their environment, having a host of adaptations that you’ll have to see to believe.
As the final part of my Masters Program I am producing a 12 minute documentary about the Kit Fox called “In Plain Sight”. Having grown up in California, this project is of personal importance to me. The documentary is entirely self-produced and funded and that’s where this fundraising campaign comes in. In order to capture the foxes secretive lives, I need to spend a significant amount of time in the field with specialized equipment and permits. I’m hoping to raise £5,000 in order to make this film a reality.
Every contribution makes a difference, and with you help “In Plain Sight” will bring the story of the amazing San Joaquin Kit Fox to the screen.
To produce "In Plain Sight" my crew and I will spend 32 days on location, focusing on capturing the incredible behaviors and personal relationships between the San Joaquin Kit Foxes.
All of the funding received for "In Plain Sight" will go directly towards production, helping to cover the cost of
- Flights for the production crew
- Food for camping
- Transportation and fuel while on location
- Extra safety equipment due to the nature of the location
- Film festival fees for once the piece is made!
Thank you for taking the time to look at my project, and I can't wait to share the wonders of the San Joaquin Kit Fox with the world!
