I am saddened to report the passing of retired Deputy Mark Nuque #1348, on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. Mark was with his wife Melissa, Mom Evelyn, sister Rayln and children Ava and Noah, at Oakland Kaiser during the time of his passing. Mark was Born on November 14, 1968, in San Francisco. Mark met his wife, Malissa in 1982 Melissa was 13 years old, and Mark was 14 years old. They had a long-distance relationship. Mark met Malissa from his sister Ralyn Nuque Lee. Melissa asked Ralyn her good friend if she could date her brother, and she said no! Mark said don’t listen to her, let‘s just be together, then that was the beginning of their relationship. Mark was too young to drive so he would take the Greyhound bus just to see Melissa, from San Francisco to Fairfield. Melissa and Mark moved in together and became domestic partners for ten years. They finally got married in the year 2000. Mark’s son Noah is twelve, and his daughter Ava is eight years old.

Mark had over 32 years with the City of San Francisco, He Started with the city in 1989 at age Twenty. Deputy Mark Nuque provided twenty-five years of service to the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office. Mark worked at SF General Hospital, county jail & Superior Courts. Sheriff Miyamoto honored SFSO Deputy M. Nuque, on his last day of 32 years of service to the City & County of San Francisco. Mark retired from service on 6/26/2021. He was one of the best Sheriff's Deputies, I ever knew. He had great skills for investigating. He cracked some of the largest cases while working in the Courts, in Civic Center. Underneath it, Mark will be remembered as a great person of integrity, respect, and a family man.

This go fund me is being set up to collect funds for Mark's children Ava and Noah. In our hearts, we will always remember Mark Nuque.
