In Nomine Ensemble Concert Series 2024

In Nomine Ensemble is an early music ensemble comprised of Jimmy Drancsak (Baroque violin), Mei Stone (Baroque flute), Morgan Davison (Baroque bassoon), and Hanbyeol Lee (harpsichord). We perform on historically accurate instruments but strive to create new sounds from these ancestral tools. We promote flexibility, development, and acceptance, all through the performance of music.

We hope to usher a new wave of old music with refreshed interpretations and a strong sense of community and to continue our concert series, we need physical and financial support.

Our 2024 concert season will include a collection of Shakespeare works paired with English late Renaissance repertoire. In conjunction with our research on Shakespearean-era gender roles and storytelling, we are applying for a recording project grant from the NYC Women’s Fund and the Sheva Collection. We plan to record and release an album of Baroque women composers' work, to be released in 2025. Additionally, we are commissioning new works from contemporary composers to contribute to the expansion and evolution of early music.

Building upon our connections with organizations such as Gotham Early Music Scene, The Bohemians, and Off the Dock Festival, we seek to lay the groundwork for our biggest long-term project goal: our own early music concert series and festival in New England. While this will extend well beyond three years, we plan to have enough funding by 2025 to start with a week-long series of community talks, performances, and workshops in the city of our choosing.
