My beautiful father passed away peacefully on the night of Eid, Friday the 15th of June - after a long, brave struggle with MND. It is difficult, if not impossible, to articulate in words how unconditionally loving, constantly generous, humble and wonderfully patient he was. He never complained, never felt sorry for himself; despite the intensity of his suffering, he fought till the very end to live for his family. He drew his last breath surrounded by the people he loved, and his journey to God was graciously gentle - it was his final gift to us all.
My father always instilled in us the importance of service and constantly giving one's time, one's effort, one's resources to others and it is in his honour that we have set up this fund to provide water where it is most needed. This is our humble effort to fulfill one of his final wishes. Any donation, great or small, is deeply, warmly appreciated. As my father always said to us, 'every little helps.'
In my father's name, and by my father's example, we are beginning this journey. May Allah reward him for his spirit of humble service, his selfless bravery and his steadfastness in the face of trials. May his journey now be full of beauty, love and light. Amin.
