In Memory of Zachary: Memorial Playground

In Loving Memory of Zachary.

On June 30th, our beloved Zachary passed away suddenly. For 16 years, Zach called REM Iowa his home. There, he was cared for, respected, and surrounded by people who saw and loved him for exactly who he was.

Despite his disability, his love and laughter spoke louder than words. One of his favorite things in the world was spending time outside at the playground. It brought him peace, happiness, and connection.

In honor of Zach’s memory and the incredible care he received at REM Iowa, we are raising funds to donate a memorial and accessible playground equipment to the home where he lived and made amazing friendships.

Because REM Iowa does not accept direct donations, this is a way for us to give back meaningfully, by creating a space of joy for others like Zach.
