Cortlandia,
We have sadly lost one of our own. What was supposed to be a routine hysterectomy for Yolanda Harrison, Leasing Consultant at the Canopy in Atlanta, turned into a horrific series of tragedy and misfortune.
Yolanda was a veteran associate that earned the respect of both residents and fellow associates in the four years she was with Cortland. Yolanda paid her rent and bills in advance to make sure nothing fell through the cracks while she was out briefly for a procedure. Complications during surgery left her in a coma for some time, required amputations of both hands and a leg, and extensive rehab. Ultimately, a massive stroke took her life. Yolanda’s mother rarely left her side during this ordeal and now struggles to pay for her daughter’s funeral.
Yolanda’s kind heart and willingness to go above and beyond for our residents and associates showed in many ways. Many residents followed Yolanda’s fight over the last year and showed their love and support with calls to the office and even visits to the hospital. Yolanda was the ultimate example of love what you do and let it show.
Let’s support Yolanda’s family by contributing to the remaining balance in funeral expenses and grave site purchase. Thank you so much for your support.
