In Memory of Yohanna (JoJo) – A Mother, A Daughter, A Sister, and Fighter
It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Yohanna; her life was tragically cut short due to complications from liver disease. Yohanna was more than the hardships she faced. She was a source of light and joy for so many; her sweetness and kindness were felt by all who came into contact with her. She was deeply loved by those who knew her. Her smile and charisma could light up a room, and her heart always had room for animals and others – even when her own heart was hurting.
Yet, she suffered behind closed doors when no one was looking. Her journey was painful – struggling with the silent weight of depression, the trauma of domestic violence, and the grip of alcohol abuse. She tried to survive and get by the best way she knew how.
We are raising funds to help cover the costs of funeral/memorial arrangements, during this incredibly difficult time. Anything you can give, whether it be a donation or simply to share this post, means more than words can express.
In honoring JoJo’s memory, we also hope to shed light and bring awareness on the often-unseen struggles and hidden toll of mental health, substance addiction, and domestic violence. We hope her story can help others to seek help and feel less alone.
Thank you to all for your love, kind words, prayers, and support.
With love,
Yohanna's Family
