On the evening of August 18th in Big Bear, California, our beloved Will Brandt was tragically taken from us by a drunk driver. Will was the heart and soul of our family—a devoted husband, a loving father to Derek and Lizzie, and a friend to so many. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends, always making sure everyone was safe, cared for, and surrounded by love. Will’s compassion and humor touched everyone he met, and countless people have shared stories of how he was there for them in times of need. He truly had a heart of gold and was the glue that held our family together, including our extended family and friends.

Will loved to travel and create memories with his family. When he wasn’t exploring new places, he could be found in the kitchen trying out new recipes or tending to his garden. His adventurous spirit shone through in everything he did, especially in his lifelong passion for riding motorcycles. On the day of the accident, Will was doing two of the things he loved most—riding his Harley and caring for his family.

Will leaves behind his two children, Derek (18) and Lizzie (15), who are both in high school and now facing an unimaginable loss. Right now, they need the support and love of those who cared for their dad. Funds raised will go directly to help Derek and Lizzie as they navigate this difficult time, and may also be used for a memorial to honor Will’s life when arrangements are finalized. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of condolences and memories shared by friends and family. We hope you will remember Will fondly and continue his legacy by leading with love and kindness, just as he always did.
