In loving memory of Vera Kocijancic

Hi, I’m Ashley and I’ve created this page in memory of my beautiful Nona (grandmother) Vera Kocijančič who passed away on 25 January 2025 aged 90.

Anyone who met Nona knew of her love for birds, especially rainbow lorikeets and kookaburras. Rain, hail or shine, you’d find her on the balcony or in the garden every morning feeding her birds. Her weekly shopping trip always included at least one or two loaves of bread, a kilo of mince meat and sugar (to sprinkle on the bread) - and the birds loved it!

Donations will be split equally and go directly to Birds in the Backyard to aid their research, education and conservation program as well as to Maleny Botanic Gardens & Bird World in Queensland - a place close to our hearts. We celebrated Nona’s 90th birthday in Queensland and of course stopped by Maleny to visit the birds!
