IN MEMORY OF VALLAI M. DORLEY

Donation protected
Aminat M. Dorley, sister to Vallai M. Dorley, is organizing the fundraiser on behalf of the family and the scholarship committee. The fund will be used to support a scholarship in Vallai's name.

Aminat would like to share the following about her brother.

The past weeks have been a complete nightmare for the Dorley family and the young people of Liberia. A piece of News that left everyone in total shock up to today. One of Liberia's finest public sector economists, a young professional, a scholar, a mentor, a philanthropic, an advocate for girls education and women's empowerment young man, is gone.

Vallai was the most loving child and his family's treasure. He was a first-generation educated young man in our family. He was a friendly gentleman with a great sense of humor; the first thing you would see was his constant smiles when you see him. He was always willing to go out of his way to assist in whatever way possible. We grew up in one of the poorest communities in Liberia.

Like many children in Africa, we went to school by the grace of God through the help of others. We often went to school hungry and slept with little or nothing, yet we graduated from university together. He decided to further his education and obtained two master's degrees from Peking University in China and KIDS in South Korea. He was preparing for his Ph.D. in 2022. He uses his education to help children in less fortunate communities and those in need.
My brother was a feminist who believed in girls' education and women's empowerment. He would use his savings to support the less fortunate families who could not afford their children's tuition.

His dream was to create a scholarship fund drive to help less fortunate children and build public libraries in slum communities. We know that Vallai is gone, and we are all going to miss him, but the least we can do to keep his legacy and support his family in these difficult times is to support whatever way possible. Even a dollar can help.

Thank you so much for being so supportive.
