In memory of two brothers with an unbreakable bond

Update: It is with extreme sadness that we announce the death of Ms. Jametta Hamilton. She passed away unexpectedly in the early morning of January 27th, 2024. While her passing is tragic and a shock to us all, we know that she is now reunited with her boys. This fundraiser will continue in her honor and the proceeds will still be given, in full to to her grandchildren who she loved so much.

Imagine a heart-wrenching tale that began with high hopes, sheer joy and the giddy anticipation of celebrating your 27th birthday.

As the clock struck midnight, the air was filled with an electrifying energy, for it was the moment to embrace your beloved older brother in a minutes long hug while exchanging heartfelt “I love you’s” A beautiful public expression of emotion, not often seen.

The bond between you two was unbreakable, and during that beautiful, everlasting expression of that bond, time seemed to stand still. Little did you know, within that same hour, the course of your lives would be forever altered.

A tragic turn of events is what happened to two brothers, James and Earl Hamilton on the night of November 18th, 2023.

James Hamilton, 27, and Earl Hamilton, 29, ventured out into the night, ready to seize the moment and create unforgettable memories. It was meant to be a time of pure bliss, a celebration of life itself. Unbeknownst to them, fate had a cruel twist in store. An infamous tree dubbed “The Widowmaker”, on a poorly lit stretch of road known by generations as “The Dead Man's Curve”, loomed ominously on Riverland Drive, located on James Island in Charleston, South Carolina. This notorious tree has claimed the lives of many souls, and tragically, it took away four more that fateful night. Two being the Hamilton brothers ( Earl & James) .

According to the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, there have been 99 total collisions in the last 10 years at that very spot on Riverland Drive. With 67 people being injured and 6 lives lost. Statistically, this has long been an area of great concern for drivers and passengers.

Earl, James and their friends Tyler and Mitchell, were unfortunately the most recent passengers added to that list.

The aftermath of this devastating event left their families shattered, burdened with immeasurable loss and indescribable pain. The void left in their hearts seemed unbearable, for the love they once shared could never be replaced or replicated. Not only did their passing leave an emotional chasm, but it also brought significant financial challenges. Earl, the eldest brother, a devoted father, left behind 3 beautiful children: 11-year old, Shannara, 7-year-old Ermiah, and 6-year-old Tamir., while James left behind a precious 4-year-old daughter, named J’ream.

In their absence, the children were left without the guiding presence of their fathers, who had been pillars of financial, moral, and emotional stability. The weight of the expenses and the burden of shouldering life's responsibilities alone became an overwhelming reality for their loved ones. It is in this time of need that we humbly request your support. We want to ensure that all of the children are able to fulfill the dreams that their fathers had for them, which included continuing their education as far as possible.

Their strong and devoted mother, Jametta Hamilton is now left to continue on without her only two children.

In the midst of this harrowing incident, we cannot overlook the devastating loss experienced by a mother who saw not one, but two of her beloved sons taken away in a single moment.
