Help Support the Family of Truitt Holcomb
Our fishing community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Truitt Holcomb, who passed away at the age of 61 in the sinking of the F/V Yankee Rose near Provincetown, Massachusetts.
Truitt was a longtime fisherman out of New Bedford and someone many of us were proud to call a shipmate and a friend. If you knew him, you knew the kind of person he was—selfless, lighthearted, and always willing to lend a hand. He had a way of keeping spirits up even on the long, hard days that come with life at sea.
Those who worked alongside Truitt knew they could count on him. He cared about the people around him and never hesitated to help someone out when they needed it. He brought a lot of good to the wheelhouse, the deck, and to the people who had the chance to share a boat with him.
Right now, his family and loved ones are facing the unimaginable. This fundraiser is meant to help ease some of the burden during an incredibly difficult time. All donations will go toward funeral expenses and helping his family manage day-to-day living costs in the weeks and months ahead.
The commercial fishing community is a tight one, and when we lose one of our own it’s felt far and wide. If you’re able to contribute, any amount will help. If not, sharing this page would mean a lot.
Thank you for helping honor Truitt’s memory and supporting the people he loved.
Fair winds and following seas, Screamin' Gene. You will be missed.
