In Memory of Torvi: Support for Her Family

On August 19, 2024, I went to the hospital to have our baby girl, Torvi. Then things took a sudden turn for the worst. I got rushed into an emergency C-section because a blood vessel in my placenta ruptured. The chances of that happening are one in 100,000, and it caused severe bleeding and cut off oxygen to Torvi. Our baby girl got rushed straight to the NICU where she was put on life support and never stopped fighting. She had several different blood transfusions, her liver and kidneys were failing, and on top of that, she only had 10% brain activity. The nurses and doctors did everything they could for her. She never gave up hope, but then we got the news from the doctor that we had to make this hard choice. Either we kept fighting and our daughter would never have a normal life, or stop treatment. This is the hardest decision we will ever have to make in our lives. Our baby girl passed away on August 22, 2024, but this was the most selfless decision so she didn't have to suffer. No parent should ever have to bury their child.
