In Memory of Toni Skeeter

Our beautiful friend Demetrius Antoinette Skeeter, affectionately known to us as Toni, is no longer with us as she was just removed from life support to harvest her organs for donation, as a final act of love.
This beautiful woman was only 42 years young when she suffered a massive cardiac arrest that left her with fatal brain damage. Her 15 year old son on his first day of high school was holding her dying mother's hand in the ambulance on the way to the hospital instead of celebrating the start of his freshman year.
Only the day before this single mother of three rejoiced as she finally was able to buy her son the needed clothes for the new school year. Unfortunately, after the massive damage to her heart and brain she was soon pronounced brain dead by the doctors.
After graduating from Churchland High School and Southeastern Virginia Occupational Opportunity Nursing Undergraduate Program with honors , Toni dedicated most of her short life to take care of severely disabled young adults under the guidance of Blue Ridge Residential Services. She was a special angel for everyone that was touched by her giving heart, among those were Emma and Baboo, her two favorite ones.
Even in her death Toni is continuing her love by giving the gift of life to those in need by donating her organs. Please pray for her family as well as the ones who are affected by her untimely departure from this life. If you are able, please turn this tragedy into generosity by financially helping the family with funeral arrangements.
I created this page for the grieving family since they are not able to deal with this at this time and because of our love for Toni. She was my right hand taking care of my handicapped son, and she meant the world to him! Our hearts are filled with sorrow and we have no idea how we'll be able to go on without her tender help and caring! You will be greatly missed, my dear friend Toni. God has gained a beautiful angel in heaven, that is for sure!
The family will be making funeral arrangements for their sunshine, for the precious young woman who brought so much light and hope into so many people's lives.
