For Tom..
On Monday 13th February our lives changed forever. Our son/brother and boyfriend, left home and never returned.
Tom was cruelly taken from us when he was involved in a fatal car accident, and our lives have been turned upside down. We still can’t believe our loss and don’t think we ever will. Tom was such a big character, from his infectious laugh to his huge heart. He loved his family, Magan and friends with every fibre of his being. He truly was our hero. As many people know he saved his big sister Charmaine’s life, when he donated his kidney to her, with only one question on his mind after he woke up “is my sister okay”. This is the kind of man our Tom was, selfless. He would give anything and everything he could to save and help his loved ones. Tom made a point of never leaving or finishing a phone call without telling us he loved us, his younger sister Lily would always laugh at him for this, he told her, if anything ever happened then at least we know the last thing he had said was that he loved us and we loved him.. And this he did, every time without fail…
Tom was very protective over all four of his sisters, Charmaine, Kelsey, Lily and Charley, who are heartbroken at his loss.
A week has passed since Toms death and although our pain is still as intense, we have to think about the next steps and arranging tom’s last goodbye. We as a family would like to give our Tommy the very best send off we possibly can, with no expense spared, one he will be proud of. Tom loved everything big and we believe he would want his special goodbye to be the same. Tom was only a young man, 36 years of age with so much life to give and live, we are devastated at even having to think of any of this. We as a family know how loved Tommy was, no matter where he went and who he met, he left a lasting impact, he truly was one of a kind.
We will be having Tom cremated so he can be in the warm around the people he loved most, we have no dates or information as it stands, we will be announcing this when we know more ourselves.
We would just like to give Tom’s family and friends the opportunity to be part of the celebration of his life, by contributing anything they can, no matter how small, to show how much he was loved and cared for, giving him the best send off possible, one he deserves. We would like to kindly ask that no additional flowers be brought for Tom, as we have limited space. Immediate family only will take care of flower arrangements. we hope this helps and provides a way for those wishing to contribute to be able to do so.
We know we will never get over this pain, and that our hearts will never beat the same, but we want to make Tommy proud, and we will do by any means necessary.
Please hug your loved ones that little bit tighter, as you never know when it will be the last time. Nothing could have prepared us for what’s happened.
Any money made from go fund me will go towards giving Tommy the farewell he deserves.
