My sister, Tomi, went missing on July 13th. She was wandering with no shoes, no phone, and no wallet — clearly in crisis and clearly needing help. I reached out. I reported it. I begged for someone to take her situation seriously. But the system that was supposed to protect her failed her at every turn.
On October 30th, her remains were found.
The cause of death is still under official review, but I already know what could have been prevented. Had the proper agencies acted when they were notified… had her cries for help been heard instead of dismissed… had the people responsible for monitoring her taken their jobs seriously… my sister might still be alive today.
Now she leaves behind two little boys who will grow up without their mother. And our family — already without our parents — is left to carry both the grief and the financial burden of laying her to rest. Funeral costs weren’t something any of us had the chance to prepare for.
I hate asking for help, but I’m doing it for her. If you’re able to donate toward her funeral expenses, it would mean more than I can ever explain. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us give her the dignity she deserved when she was still here.
Once the goal is met and the funeral expenses are paid off all donations thereafter will be put towards attorney costs in the fight for her justice. I wont stop until the very persons responsible; are held accountable.
Thank you to everyone who searched, shared, and listened when others wouldn’t. We won’t stop fighting for answers, for accountability, and for Tomi.
