In Memory of Toby Worman
Donation protected
It is with a very heavy heart that I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend Toby Worman, who recently passed away at only 38 years young. This sudden loss has left a hole our hearts and an irreplaceable connection to music, Seattle, and PNW culture.
I first met Toby when he was 19, and we had an immediate connection because of our passion for music. Over the years we would roam the mean streets of Seattle - primarily Capitol Hill neighborhood, watching shows (If Mudhoney had a show - he was THERE!) buying music, and watching him perform at open mics (Scratch Deli), belting his heart out in karaoke at Cha Cha, Rock Box, and played shows in his band at The Comet, West Seattle, and Belltown.
Folks who know Toby knew him for his extreme passion about music. He played guitar, (Dotted Lines, Wildcat Creek), supported and championed other music projects and was a proud vinyl junkie (and CDs). He was never without a pair of headphones and some good tunes. He went through his CD collection Alphabetically by band and would create his own top 100 albums list. I cannot say for sure how many times he did that but considering how extensive his collection was, even once was mind blowing to me. But you can read a little about his contributions to the PNW music scene in this tribute to Toby here: Pacific Northwest Music Archives - Toby Tribute
We’re raising funds to help with funeral expenses and to support his family as they try to make sense of life without him. Any donations will go directly to his immediate family via his brother Paul.
Toby was an amazing son, brother, uncle, and friend. We are all fortunate that we had him, though it was not nearly long enough.
