I'm creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my sister, Alyssa, and my brother-in-law, Rob, who – along with many others – are grieving the loss of Rob's mom, Theresa.

On August 11, 2022, Theresa Somero Johnson unexpectedly passed away after a very private battle with cancer.

Theresa leaves behind two sons, Rob and Jason, along with four grandchildren (Marley, Jude, Benny and Cooper). Her son Jason is currently in the hospital fighting his own battle with leukemia and lymphoma.

No one, not even her children, knew she had cancer and was fighting such a difficult battle. And it breaks our hearts knowing she went through so much pain alone. While Rob was driving to the hospital in Cincinnati to see his mom for what he knew would be the last time, he received a call that his mom passed away – leaving him crushed and heartbroken that he didn't make it in time.

Theresa didn't have insurance when she passed away, leaving the family with end-of-life medical bills along with the cost of paying for her memorial. Rob and Alyssa are working tirelessly to get everything in order but need help financially to ensure things are taken care of properly and nothing is overlooked.

At this time, we're not sure exactly what the financial situation looks like, but all money raised will go toward helping with things like:

Theresa's cremation and memorial
End-of-life medical expenses from the two days she spent in the hospital
Cleaning services for her apartment, car, etc.
Travel between Toledo and Cincinnati
Renting a truck to move items into storage
A storage unit in Ohio for her valuables
Travel expenses to go to Florida to clean her storage unit
And anything else the family needs

Theresa had a huge heart and was loved by so many including her family, friends, former coworkers at Seminole Casino in Immokalee, FL and Hard Rock Casino in Cincinnati, OH, and everyone she met throughout her life.

To say she will be missed is an understatement. In fact, she already is.

Rest in peace, Theresa. We love you and miss you so much, but we're also relieved to know you're no longer in pain.
