On Monday, October 29th, we lost our beloved Teresa after a fierce 19-month battle with cancer. She had Cholangiocarcinoma, which is a rare cancer in the bile duct of the liver. There are no risk factors for this type of cancer; it can arbitrarily affect anyone, in any decade of life. We only had 40 years with Teresa, which was not enough time.
Teresa was the perfect combination of sweet and spicy. She was always the first person to welcome you into her home, always the first to hug you, and always the first to try to feed you. She was selfless, and courageous in all ways possible. She was the person you called for encouragement, to vent to, because you knew she would have the right words to say. Through her illness, she was always looking out for everyone else, making sure that we were healthy and happy in our lives.
She was also very protective of her friends and family, no matter what, and would be the first person to stand up for you at any cost.
It is hard to imagine a world without Teresa, but we will all carry on her legacy and be there for her husband and children.
She was a loving wife to Jesse, a caring mom to Maleena (22), Alli (8) and Tai (7), and a wonderful daughter, and sister. Her entire family cared for her up until her last breath. She passed away surrounded by who she loved and valued most -- FAMILY.
When she passed, the sky parted and the sun shined down briefly as she was welcomed into heaven. That image was as beautiful and pure, as our memories of Teresa.
Although Teresa was sick for 19 months, there is no way to prepare for the final moment. These funds will go towards medical bills, funeral expenses, and family bereavement support services. Thank you in advance for your generous contributions.
