In Memory of Tatay Felix, Father of Vie Remolar

Dear Family and Friends,

I hope this note finds you well and anticipating the joys of the holiday season. I decided to start this GoFundMe campaign for my dear sister in law, Vie Remolar. Sadly, Vie’s father, whom we lovingly call Tatay Felix, passed away last night (12/19/23) at the age of 91. He was hospitalized last week and developed pneumonia. Days later he was diagnosed with septic shock. Sadly, his frail body succumbed to the complications of pneumonia.

Vie already booked her travel to the Philippines months ago for the purpose of reuniting and celebrating Christmas with her family, especially with her Tatay Felix who turned 91 last month. She looked forward to this special occasion so much. Today is her original flight to Manila. When she heard the news from her family that Tatay Felix was hospitalized last week, she did her best to stay strong, especially in her faith, even if each day that passed caused so much pain and anxiety. She got the news last night that Tatay Felix passed away and was only able to see him on video to say her last goodbye.

Life indeed throws a curve ball when you least expect it. When it does happen, your faith gets shaken but it can also hold steadfast through the prayers, compassion and kindness of others. I am reaching out to all of you if you would be so kind to help Vie and her family, please. The cost of hospitalization and funeral expenses are enormous in the Philippines compared to what’s available here in terms of coverage. Vie and her siblings have already pooled all of their resources but could really use more financial help.

Vie is not the type who would start a fundraising campaign for herself. But she is the type who would start and support a fundraising campaign for others like what she’s been doing over the last 13 years for our Parish at St. James in Fremont. She would always be in the forefront of every project, dedicating her time, talent and resources to see it through the finish line.

I hope during this difficult and sad time, we could collectively help Vie and lift her spirits up with your prayers and financial support. I am sure any amount would be greatly appreciated by her and her family.

Thank you so much and let’s keep our families close to our hearts. They are precious and God’s greatest blessing.

God bless you always!
