On the 14th of April I am planning to run the Manchester marathon. I imagined running this marathon and coming back to Forfar to meet a very special baby girl for the first time. I planned on meeting her, showing her my medal, tickling her tiny feet and holding her precious hands for the first time. However, as many of you know that dream has not just been taken from me but it has also been taken from my family.

However, a very special charity has allowed my family to take these special moments home in the shape of a casting. The Carlo & Marti’s Fund is a unique charity which allows families who are facing the incredibly heartbreaking reality of baby & child loss and incredible opportunity of being generously gifted castings of their babies hands, feet and face which are exact 3D replicas. This gives families the comfort of holding their babies hands, tickling their babies feet and kissing their babies lips.

I am choosing to run this marathon in memory of a special little button, Sydney Rena Iona Laurence and in aid of the charity, allowing other families who face this devastating reality to receive this beautiful gift and hopefully feel the comfort we feel knowing we will get to hold her hand again soon.
