In Memory of Susan Rotella Jensen; Bring her home!

My brother and I are reaching out to the community and all who knew our mother Susan Rotella Jensen with shattered hearts and desperate need of prayers, strength and any donations possible. Our mom was currently staying in Syracuse New York dealing with the recent passing of her father and in the mean time trying to help tend to her mother and was involved in a horrific unexpected house fire that happened the morning after Christmas Day.
Our mom, our grandmother was transported to the Emergency room the morning of the 26th due to being ill and our mother Susan was home alone with her dog Baby. I spoke to my mom on my way to work the morning of the 26th to check in just 12 minutes before this catastrophic event happened. A by standard driving by happened to notice the flames coming from the windows and our mom laying in the yard believed to have jumped from a window. Macheda, a firefighter and EMT in Cazenovia with 40 years of experience, pulled over and immediately started helping my mom. She was none responsive. 20 min of chest compression she was brought back and rushed to the hospital. Susan sustained multiple injuries. One broken leg almost completely severed, broken knee cap to the other leg, multiple burns to her face, chest, arms, thighs, abdomen, a brain injury, broken sternum, multiple broken ribs upon many other things. My brother and I once notified from the upstate university hospital ran and jumped on a plane immediately on the morning of the 26th completely shattered and pushing to get to her as fast as possible. Due to a terrible snow storm we had five flights cancelled while stuck in the Atlanta airport delaying our arrival to her till Monday morning at 1am. We got to see and hold our mom, our bestfriend , our confidant, our back bone to eventually holding her hand while she passed away Tuesday night at 7:52pm after fighting soooo hard. Our mother was a TRUE WARRIOR who has surpassed medical miracles and life events numerous times in life. Susan beat cancer SIX times and never NOT had a smile on her face she always knew all the right things to say to lift you up in any situation! There are not enough words to describe the incredible woman she truly was and the impact she made on every single person she ever met. With all of this being said my brother and I wanted to get our mother home to Florida where she knew exactly where she wanted to be buried and carry out her final wishes. As she so very much deserves! We cannot leave New York and not have our mother. Unfortunately we are very low on funds due to so many travel expenses, being out of work for this extended amount of time so far from home and Holidays just passing. We also buried our father 7 months ago. We ask for any help possible to be able to aid in transporting her back home and her arrangements once there. If you’re unable please pray or pass positive thoughts to myself , my family and her friends at this time. Thank you very much to the Upstate University hospital for exceptional care and support they have had for my Mother and walking us through such a difficult time. Thank you to the Syracuse fire department and the Syracuse Police department for working so hard and putting themselves on the frontline. Thank you so dearly to police officer Macheda, a firefighter and EMT from Cazenovia that jumped into action to save our mom and give her a fighting chance! Thank you for giving us the time to get to her and hold her one last time! Please know any thoughts, prayer or donations is so very greatly appreciated!
