In Memory of Steve Shaw
Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart to share that Steve Shaw passed away this past Monday, October 31st. Steve began working for the Environmental Protection Agency in 1997 when EPA was still located at Waterside Mall on M Street S.W. in Washington, DC. He played a crucial lead role in the planning, designing and constructing all five buildings in the Federal Triangle EPA Headquarters and Potomac Yards. Which also included six off-campus satellite buildings and multiple Regional Offices for the data centers and telecommunication infrastructure. Steve was always a team player willing to go above and beyond to complete the task at hand.
Steve was big on international traveling. Cancun was his favorite place to relax. He loved to scuba dive. So much so that he would research the world’s best diving sites and was taking a course to become a certified scuba diver. He loved to be near the ocean whenever he could. He also loved sports. Especially the Washington, DC Commanders. He would frequently hang out watching the games and playing dominos with the guys.
Steve leaves behind a loving wife he has been with for 32 years and a daughter he was always very proud of, especially as he watched her become an RN. He has lots of family and friends that adored him and we’re all sad to see him go. He fought a valiant battle, but the family was left with extensive medical bills and memorial costs. Any donation is greatly appreciated.
