A Playground for Aria & Dahlia, In Loving Memory of Steve

Dear Friends + Community,

I'm Carol, one of Haley’s neighbors, and I’ve started this GoFundMe to support Haley and her two amazing daughters—Aria and sweet baby Dahlia—as they honor the memory of their beloved husband and father, Steve Wargacki.

Steve was the kind of person who made life feel like an adventure—because for him, it truly was. Whether he was with friends, hiking in the woods, climbing trees (even as an adult), or chasing Haley through a fountain on their first date, Steve brought an infectious energy to everything he did. He had a brilliant mind, a fearless spirit, and a heart that put family above all else.

Steve tragically passed away while clearing space in the backyard for a playset—an act of love for Aria and Dahlia that exemplified who he was: a hands-on, devoted dad who found joy in building and teaching. That space now holds deep emotion for Haley, and finishing what Steve started has become both a tribute and a healing project for their family.

This fundraiser will help complete the play area as Steve envisioned it—cleared and leveled professionally, enclosed with a new fence, and surrounded with safe, rubber mulch. At the center will be a playset with all the climbing features Aria asked for. We're hopeful that some kind-hearted neighbors can lend a hand with the assembly and final touches.

Haley has been incredibly strong through this unimaginable loss, and while she’s still sorting through the financial path ahead, she’s shared that things may be tight for some time. That’s where our community can come in—to create something joyful and lasting for the girls, and to carry forward Steve’s adventurous, generous spirit.

Every contribution—big or small—will go directly to Haley to bring this space to life. It will be a place filled with laughter, exploration, and memories, just like Steve would’ve wanted.
