In memory of Simon Blair

19 year-old beloved son, big brother, and best friend to so many, Simon Blair, tragically and unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021 in a motorcycle accident in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was a kind, graceful, gentle and hilarious soul who was always making others laugh, feel valued, and loved. So many of his friends are remembering him as a brother and best friend, and that speaks to how his pure and genuine heart connected so easily with nearly everyone he met.
Simon had an adventurous spirit, and a knack for always putting a smile on faces through his sharp wit or his big heart by helping his friends or family. He was loved by so many, and was a tremendous presence at the center of our world. Simon’s spirit will live on in his family and friends in the stories they tell, the pictures they share, and the positive impact he had on so many.
During this difficult time, we are kindly asking for any support, prayers, and/or donations to alleviate financial burdens brought on by this tragedy. In talking with Simon’s mom, Marcia, the one thing she wished she had been able to give Simon is a dependable car so that when he worked so hard to earn money, he didn’t have to put it all into repairs for an old car. So any excess funds will be applied towards a dependable “starter” car for Simon’s sister, Shelby, as she learns to navigate this world without the big brother who always made her laugh.
Thank you all for your continuous outpouring love and support. We are immensely grateful for you and for the impact you have had on our lives, and the connection we will always have in our love for Simon.
All funds raised and messages sent will be delivered to Simon's mom, Marcia Selinger. The support shown in kindness with phone calls, messages, shared pictures and videos, and flowers is already overwhelming and filling the family's broken hearts with love. A visitation will be held Saturday, March 13, 2021, from 10am-12pm at Bethany Funeral Home, 8201 Harrison Street, LaVista, Nebraska 68128. The funeral service will follow directly after the visitation.
