In Memory of Silverio De La Cruz

Dear community,

On March 18th, 2023, our father Silverio, passed away. Since then, we have received countless messages from friends, family, strangers, and a community of people who knew my dad from his endless walks selling ices in Williamsburg.

Many of you have asked what you can do to help support the family and honor the legacy of generosity and love for the community that our father is leaving behind. Many people have reached out wanting to do something to honor our dad. We’re so grateful for the outpouring of support we’ve received. As such, we would like to ask our friends and the community at large to help us raise funds to help recondition and redesign the grave where he’s resting next to his father and brothers. Finally, to honor his love for children and the community, we would like to fund a summer camp for children in our local town in the Dominican Republic. The children’s program is sponsored by the local church and runned by volunteers. The proceeds will support in purchasing supplies and meals. The funds will be personally distributed by the family.
