Sherry Wolfe Parker
1964 – 2025
Sherry Wolfe Parker, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Christmas Day, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in 1964, Sherry grew up in Tennessee, attending East High School before graduating from Tennessee High School in 1982. A straight-A student and a talented swimmer, Sherry was on track to become a champion in AAU swimming. However, at just 16, she made the selfless decision to set aside her love for swimming to marry, promising her family she would still graduate high school—a promise she fulfilled with pride.
At 19, Sherry welcomed her only daughter Brittany, into the world. Brittany, now a dedicated 911 operator for the City of Kingsport, carries forward her mother’s legacy of strength and compassion, alongside her own daughter, Spencer, also a 911 operator.
Sherry lived in both Bristol and Kingsport, Tennessee, where she built a life filled with love, faith, and family. After her first marriage, Sherry found her soulmate in Keith Parker, the love of her life. Together, they built a life of devotion. Sherry supported Keith throughout his military career, following him to California and Illinois, where she worked in the hospitality industry and the Glenview, IL, School System. Their bond only deepened as Sherry lovingly cared for Keith after he became disabled following his military service.
Sherry’s faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her life. She was a regular attendee of Ross Campground Church before moving to Kingsport, where she continued to live out her faith through her actions and love for others.
Sherry’s greatest pride and joy were her family, especially her grandchildren. She lived for her husband Keith, her daughter Brittany, and her cherished granddaughters Spencer, Shannoah, and Payton, whom she home schooled. She celebrated Brittany’s accomplishments, including her graduation with a master’s degree in criminal justice from King University, with immense pride.
Sherry is survived by mother, Marilyn Darnell, her devoted husband, Keith Parker; her daughter, Brittany; her granddaughters, Spencer, Shannoah, and Payton; her twin sister, Terry; her niece, Brandi (and husband Matthew); and her great-nephew, Mayson. She is also survived by her brothers, Mike, David, and Frank (and wife Emily.)
Sherry’s life was a testament to love, faith, and resilience. She touched the lives of everyone she met with her kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.
A celebration of Sherry’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
