My family and I are heartbroken as we share the tragic loss of my niece, Shelenthia “Lynn” Willis, who was only 38 years old. Her birthday is December 25th, and Christmas will never feel the same for us again. This year is already so heavy without her. Lynn was full of light, with a beautiful smile, a beautiful heart, and a beautiful soul.
Lynn loved being with her family, having fun, dancing, and just enjoying good old–fashioned fun. She was very family-oriented and happiest when she was surrounded by the people she loved. She cared deeply about her family and friends and would do anything just to see someone she loved smile.
This man entered her life with a plan to manipulate her, and he was successful in doing that. Five years ago, he brutally pistol-whipped her. While he was in prison for that attack, he sent messages saying that once he got out, he would finish what he started. On November 17, 2025, D’Angelo Aubrey murdered my niece. Tragically, once he was discharged, he carried out the very threat he had been making. Our family is shattered, and her two daughters are now facing a pain that no child should ever have to face.
This support is for my mother, Velma Willis, who is and has always been the caregiver for my niece and her kids. She has carried so much on her shoulders over the years, and during this painful time, we want to make sure she is supported as she continues to be a source of strength for our family and for Lynn’s daughters.
