In Memory of Shawna: Aid for Her Children's Future
Donation protected
Back in 2018, our mother Shawna had her first near-death experience. She turned her life over to God and has done everything she could to better herself for all 6 of her children, all ranging from 29-11 years old. Her favorite thing in the world was being a mother. My mom has always struggled with her weight and feeling okay in the body that she was in. In March of this year, she decided it was the best option for herself to have weight loss surgery, gastric bypass, to better her life… to better her health.
Beginning March 5, 2 days after she underwent surgery, she began having health issues. First, it started with her not being able to control her blood pressure. She was diagnosed with orthostatic hypotension. She started falling a lot. Her nervous system began not working properly. Her mobility began to decline because every time she would stand up, her blood pressure would drop so low that she would fall. Over the past 4 months, our mother was in and out of the hospital trying her best to figure out what was going on for her children. The health care system seriously failed her. They would tell us she was okay and that she’ll be fine. We obviously knew that wasn’t the case.
She was admitted into the hospital on July 2nd, 2024. Three days before she passed away, she slipped into a coma and her body was completely shutting down on her. She was placed on a ventilator and life support medication on the second day of her coma. On the third day, July 11th of 2024, she no longer had any brain function. The family decided it was best to let her pass away on her own surrounded by all the people who loved her. There were 22 people in the room with her when her heart stopped. She was very loved and we know for a fact she wasn’t ready to leave us. The health care system let her down and just let this happen to her. They failed us, they took our mother away from us. Now she leaves 6 children behind, the youngest being 11 years old, and she also had our sister with cerebral palsy under her care. Everything happened so quickly, in the span of 4 months her life completely changed. Our lives have completely changed. Now we have to continue without our one lifeline we had in our life, our mother.
Shawna Lea Lindemulder was a woman who wore her heart on her sleeve. Everyone who was blessed enough to meet her saw what a wonderful and caring soul she was. She was only 43 years old. She will be missed by many.
We are asking for donations for the funeral expenses and also for her children she had in her care. Anything helps. God is a part of our lives and we keep Him in our hearts every single day. We believe God will bless anyone who is able to help us out during this difficult time.
Thank you.
Her daughter, Wendy (25 years old)
