In Loving Memory of Shawn McFarland

On August 15th, our hearts were shattered by the unexpected loss of my beloved husband, Shawn. He was a devoted father to six wonderful children and a loving husband, partner, and friend. His passing has left an immeasurable void in our lives, and we are still trying to process the reality of life without him.

Shawn was more than just a family man. He dedicated himself to the community in so many ways — especially through his role as Cub Scout Master, where he mentored and guided countless young boys with patience, wisdom, and heart. He never asked for recognition, but anyone who knew him felt the impact of his kindness and generosity.

What made Shawn truly special was his unwavering passion for helping others. Whether it was lending a hand to a neighbor, supporting a friend through hard times, or the endless hours he put his time and energy in- to come so close to opening a recovery house, he gave selflessly without hesitation. Helping people wasn’t just something he did — it was who he was. His legacy of compassion and service is something we will forever cherish and strive to carry forward.

We were not prepared emotionally or financially for this sudden loss. As we try to navigate this painful time, I am humbly asking for help with funeral and memorial expenses. Every donation, no matter how small, will help us give Shawn the respectful farewell he deserves and support his children as we take our first steps forward without him.
