I know Sharon the teacher; the ELA teacher at IS 24 for the past 26 years. I know the hard work and dedication that she put into the thousands of students she has reached over her career; the lessons that she taught and the instruction that she gave.
I know Sharon the daughter, who was lucky enough to work with her mother Fran at IS 24 so many years ago. What an experience that must be.
Finally, I know Sharon, the sister. A woman who got to work with her sister Robin on a daily basis at IS 24 as well. Seeing them together, at meetings and in the hall, oh what a bond they have shared.
We lost Sharon on Saturday, April 4th, 2020 to Covid-19. Her loss is devastating to all of us and is certainly one that has had a tremendous impact.
Many of us know Sharon in a different way. It is important that we keep her with us always.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband Jeff and their twin daughters Rebecca and Samantha. Jeff, himself, is fighting this horrible virus.
We are collecting these funds to help off set future expenses that arise for the family. Once the funds are collected they will be transferred to Jeff and his daughters. I have spoken to Jeff and he stated to me that he would set the funds aside in preparation for college expenses for the girls.
As a family, now is the time, more than ever, to come together. Sharon's loss is tragic and unexpected. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal. Sharon lives with us in memory and will for evermore.
