On July 25, 2025, Shane Carl Legg passed away unexpectedly at the age of 43. His death has left a deep and complicated grief for those who loved him—especially his children.

Shane was a man of charm. He had a way of drawing people in, making them laugh, and leaving a lasting impression. His heart was big, even if his path was often difficult. Life brought struggles that at times made it hard for him to be fully present, but those who knew him best never stopped hoping for more.

He is survived by his three beloved children:

• Kylee Legg (22)

• Ethan Legg (12)

• Thomas Legg (2)

Also mourning his loss are his parents, Steven Carl Legg and Donna Louise Young Legg; his stepmother, Deborah Draves Legg, his sisters, Mallori Legg and Tiffany Legg; his aunt, Debra Schrock; his partner and mother of his youngest son, Jackee Freeland.

Why This Fund Was Created

This GoFundMe was created not only to honor Shane’s memory, but to extend care and support to the people most affected by his loss:

Life was not always easy for Shane. This fund is an opportunity to offer the support he would have wanted for his children and their mothers—a way to bring some healing, relief, and hope to the lives he leaves behind.

Each beneficiary will receive 20% of the total raised.

A 529 college savings account will be established for Ethan and Thomas to help secure their future educational expenses.

This fund is being established in lieu of flowers, as a way to turn sorrow into meaningful support.
