In memory of Shane John Hunt (1933-2025), the Hunt family is collecting donations for the Dr. Shaw Library in the town of Mount Vernon, Maine. Shane lived on a family farm in Mount Vernon as a young boy in the 1930's, and for the rest of his life he retained a deep fondness for Mount Vernon, and for Maine in general. Shane was a lifelong educator who believed in the value of reading and the "life of the mind," as well as the importance of supporting one's local community. He specifically selected this library in his last weeks as a fitting beneficiary for donations in his memory. The Hunt family will match all donations.
