On the morning of June 16, 2025, we came to discover that our sister Shameka Abe had begun her journey to be with our mother in heaven. Her departure from this earth was unexpected and has caused a devastating blow to our family. Her beautiful life and laughter touched so many in the short amount of time she was with us.

Recently, our family has experienced a great deal of heartache. This is our third member of our family we will lay to rest, in such an abrupt manner. As a family, we could never have prepared to endure such a sudden loss. On this day, I remember looking up at the clouds and thinking how low they sat on the mountains. The heavens were preparing to receive an angel.
