In Memory of Shamairra: Aid for Her Children
Donation protected
My name is Brittany Neal, and I'm writing this with a heavy heart as I share the story of my beloved little sister, Shamairra. Just a short time ago, our world was turned upside down when a tragic car accident took her from us far too soon. The pain of losing her is indescribable, and it's a loss that everyone who knew her is feeling deeply. Shamairra was a light in this world, a beacon of love and strength, and her memory will forever be cherished by all of us, especially her three beautiful children who now have to navigate life without their mother.
Shamairra was more than just a sister to me; she was my friend, my confidante, and a woman who touched the lives of so many. From a young age, she had an incredible passion for life and a determination to make a difference. In high school, she founded her own step team at Verona Area High School, which she named "Sistah's with Attitude." This wasn’t just a team; it was a movement. She created a space where young people could express themselves, find their voice, and feel a sense of belonging. She continued coaching long after she graduated because she knew how much it meant to those kids. She wanted them to feel seen, just as she had.
Her love for dance didn’t stop there. Shamairra was also a member of House Arrest 2 (HA2) dance team, and anyone who saw her perform would tell you she danced like she was born for it. She moved with a freedom and joy that was contagious, and when she danced, you couldn’t help but feel it in your soul. She lived her life with the same passion she brought to the dance floor—unapologetically and with her whole heart. She entered HA2 in spring 2K15 along with 5 others. Her dance name was Pers8sion #85. She worked at New Perspective Senior Living, and she absolutely loved it. Shamairra had a way of brightening up the faces of all the residents, ensuring that all of their needs were met with care and compassion. She didn't just support the residents; she also supported a team of staff members with her personable touch, always making everyone feel valued and cared for.
But it wasn't just her talent that made Shamairra special. It was her heart. She had this incredible ability to make everyone around her feel cared for, loved, and important. She was the kind of person who would drop everything if you needed her, no matter how big or small your problem was. She was always there, always ready to help, and always full of love. Even in her last moments, her thoughts were with her children. She asked her son to save his brother—a final act of love and protection that truly encapsulates who she was. Now, in the wake of this tragedy, her three children are left with their own battles to fight. Each of them has medical needs that will require months of care and support. It’s going to take all of us—our entire community—to help them through this, to give them the strength they need to heal and to carry on their mother’s legacy.
We are reaching out, humbly asking for your support. Whether it’s through a donation, sharing this GoFundMe, or simply keeping Shamairra’s memory alive in your hearts, we are grateful for anything you can offer. These children have a long road ahead of them, and together, we can help them navigate it with the same love and support that Shamairra gave to so many.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read this, and for any support you can provide. Your kindness means more than words can express.
