Sean was a best friend, brother, son and family for so many of us.
The story of Sean can be summed up in 3 words - love, hugs and smiles.
After graduating high school, he served his 5 years in the Navy and completed his service in 2018. In 2019 he graduated from lineman training. As most of you know Sean moved from Southern California to Missouri last year to pursue his career as an apprentice line man - the position was a great opportunity for him but it also took him far away from his support network. We loved him from afar and treasured every moment we could get with him.
Mid-March was a devastating time for his friends and family as we learned of his passing. This has been a loss that resonated deeply as Sean was so loved by so many. We still can't believe it is true. We miss his smile and sweetness every day.
Now his family has to face transporting his ashes back from Missouri to Southern California. There are also costs for the memorial service. As you can imagine dealing with these details is distracting. This time is for honoring his life and we need to support his family as they grieve the loss of Sean. Any amount you can contribute will be used wisely for all the cremation costs already incurred, transportation expenses and the memorial expenses associated with placing Sean to rest.
We do not have an exact idea of the costs and as we get a clearer picture, we might adjust the fundraising goal. Please be patient as we work to get clarification. We will keep this updated with details of when the service is planned, but the family is estimating a memorial at the end of May 2021. Currently, any funds received will be managed jointly between the Norton and the Cardoza families.
We invite you to post your favorite memory of time with Sean or how you met him and how he impacted your life. If you have photos to share, please email them to [email redacted] as we will be putting together a collage for the service. If you would like to participate in organizing the memorial, you can email your contact information with note on how you would like to be involved.
Thank you for your gift to help towards the family affording this hardship. Sean was a gift to us all. He became family almost immediately upon meeting him. We look forward to celebrating Sean's life with you at a casual but perfect gathering. We send you love for your personal loss.
