In Memory of Scott Penney: Help Support His Family

Donation protected
My name is Courtlynd, and I’m starting this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend Jordan Penney and her family. They are going through the unimaginable loss of their father, Scott, who unexpectedly passed away on October 10th, 2025.

Scott, as described by the family, was the heart and soul of his family. An extremely hard-working man who spent over 25 years at Cianbro’s as a welder and fabricator. He took incredible pride in his work and in the people he worked alongside. Even after putting in long 60-hour weeks, he always came home with enough energy to be present, sitting down for dinner, helping with little things around the house, and sharing stories that filled their home with laughter and warmth.

He loved his family more than anything in this world. He was a proud husband to his wife, Wendy, for 33 years and was endlessly proud of his children: Clark, a talented barber; Corbin, who owns his own company; Tovi, a dedicated catering manager; Cade, who works at Bath Iron Works; Ocean, a department head; and Jordan, a pastry chef at a restaurant.

Even after all those long workdays, he made sure to give his family his time and attention. Proving every single day how much they meant to him. His family describes him as a man who worked harder than anyone they know, yet never let that stop him from being there when they needed him most.

He found joy in the simple things like playing golf, watching Star Trek, or picking blackberries and telling stories about it to all who would listen. Those small, everyday moments now feel like treasures to the people who loved him most. His family says they feel like they “cannot breathe without him.” The house is quiet now, and his chair sits empty, a painful reminder of the love and laughter that once filled their home.

Those who knew Scott describe him as loyal, humble, and kind. The type of person who would drop everything to help someone else. He gave without expecting anything in return and worked tirelessly to ensure his family had everything they needed.

This sudden and heartbreaking loss has left the family not only grieving but also facing financial strain. We’re raising funds to help with funeral and memorial service costs, household expenses, and to provide stability for Wendy and their children as they begin to navigate life without him.

Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference. If you aren’t able to give financially, please consider sharing this page or leaving a kind message. Knowing that people care, that they’re not alone in this pain, means more than words can express.

On behalf of Wendy, Clark, Corbin, Tovi, Cade, Ocean, and Joran, thank you for taking the time to read their story and for showing love and support during this incredibly difficult time. Whether it’s through a donation, a share, or simply your thoughts and prayers, your kindness is helping this family begin to heal after losing the man who meant everything to them.

Services will be held Sunday, October 19th 2025, at Cornerstone baptist church in Exeter at 3 pm.
