We are writing this with a shattered heart, held together only by God’s grace. On January 2, 2026, our beautiful Sarissa Velarde gained her wings. She was deeply loved and left an imprint on every life she touched. If you knew Sarissa, even briefly, you felt her light.
Sarissa was an incredible big sister who loved each of her siblings fiercely and without condition. She was a daughter any parent could only dream of—selfless, compassionate, and always giving more than she ever took. She went above and beyond to be the best granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend, always showing up with love and kindness.
From the very beginning of her life, Sarissa faced challenges that most could never imagine. She was born with a kidney condition called hydronephrosis, which later led to end-stage renal disease. For over seven years, Sarissa fought bravely on dialysis, showing strength, courage, and resilience far beyond her years. Despite everything her body endured, her spirit never dimmed. Her dreams were vast—reaching from the stars above to the depths of the ocean below.
We are humbly asking for support from anyone whose life Sarissa touched, or from those who feel called to help us lay her to rest with the love and dignity she deserves. Our family has come together in her honor, but the expenses exceed what we are able to manage alone.
Any contribution, no matter the size, means more than words can express. If you are unable to give, we ask for your prayers and for you to share Sarissa’s story. Thank you for helping us honor a life that meant so much to so many.
