If you can please help with any financial support for Sarah's family that would be greatly appreciated. We were all shocked by Sarah’s death and hope to ease the burdened for Sarah’s family by raising some money for remembrance costs, missed work or other financial burden. Thank you for your support.
Below are words from Sarah's sisters, Lacie and Christen:
At just 34 years young, Sarah suffered from a severe and sudden Asthma attack which left her in a coma for days. Each day the doctors told us she could pass away at any moment, and each morning we got a call that she was still fighting. Sarah died the way she lived, on her own terms. This was her last “I Do What I Want” proclamation and nothing was going to take Sarah without her say so and or approval.
Sarah has been a fighter since the day she was born, determined to overcome whatever life threw at her.
Sarah was genuine, funny and loyal. She was sensitive and had a heart for anyone that needed help. Sarah would drop whatever she was doing and without fail, she always showed up. Sarah was the first one there with words of encouragement, wisdom, or comfort.
Sarah lived a life of service. As the youngest of her sisters, she served as a little bundle of energy that kept the entire family on their toes(mostly because we were always searching for her light-up Reeboks right before we had to leave for church).
As a teenager she served the Lord before she enlisted in the US Navy to serve her country, and fellow service members. She served in the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman for seven years. Although her family missed her, she made life-long bonds while deployed in places as far away as Guam. She spoke so highly of all her friends and coworkers.
After Sarah separated from the Navy, she continued to serve. She helped save lives as a traveling Surgical Tech before meeting Nate, the Love of her life. Only true love could have convinced her to settle down and stay in one place. If you were ever in the same room as Nate and Sarah, you could physically feel the love and bond they shared. When they laughed together, the world just seemed right. Sarah’s bright and exuberate laugh will be missed most of all.
Sarah was a healer at heart and was working towards her goal of becoming a PA to continue to serve. After her dad's accident, she showed up every Thursday to do therapy work with him, take him to ice cream or to just support her mom,. However she could help, Sarah was there.
Sarah loved her cubs. She took her role of Aunt seriously. She was always taking her nieces and nephews somewhere exciting and surprising them with the coolest gifts. No matter the time of day or situation, she had their backs.
It saddens our hearts to see our loving Fiancé, Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Friend gone too soon. Being the fierce warrior and protector Sarah was, it does bring us comfort knowing she is watching over each of us as we try to navigate this world without her.
Sarah will be missed and forever in our hearts.
Please join us in remembrance of Sarah Jane Katheryn Marsh. All are invited.
To honor Sarah’s love of the water, we will be doing a waterfront paper lantern ceremony to celebrate her life. We will also be posting a Zoom link if you can’t attend in-person.
We decided as a family to plan Sarah’s celebration of life far enough in advance so the many friends who know her around the world have an opportunity to plan their travel and attend in person. (Please see the Facebook Announcement for more details).
