Sarah Alexis Elisabeth Cheshire: a mother, a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, an aunt, a niece, a cousin, and a friend went to be with the Lord on Tuesday February 4th, 2025 at 2:17pm. At the time of passing she was surrounded by loved ones at Baptist Health Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Sarah is survived by her three year-old daughter Savannah Cheshire, her mother and father Melody Cheshire and Herbert Cheshire III, her brothers Herbert Cheshire IV, Brian Cheshire, and Street Cheshire with his wife Stephanie Cheshire, Sarah's grandmother Gloria Ireland, her uncle and aunt Mike Cheshire and Tracy Cheshire with their children Michael Cheshire, Jr., Melissa Kincaid, and Tyler Cheshire, as well as Sarah's niece and nephews Claire Cheshire, Caleb Cheshire, and Austin Cheshire with his wife and two children.
Sarah was born in Augusta, Georgia on September 11th, 1995 at MCG Hospital. Her early life was full of activities and a pursuit of learning. She was involved heavily in the local church community performing in plays, musicals, scripture readings, retreats, and Vacation Bible School (Abundant Living Word, Greater Works Ministries, Church of the Good Shepherd). Sarah played on the Columbia County youth softball teams for multiple seasons and enjoyed playing games and sports outdoors with neighborhood friends as a child. Sarah took years of piano lessons and had a deep love for music and the arts. One of Sarah's deepest affinities was without a doubt towards animals. She was loving and affectionate towards them and was known to take in several strays over the years. She took horseback riding lessons and had many pets she raised, trained, and cared for throughout her life. Though she cherished all animals, Sarah's favorites were dogs and squirrels. She is survived by her treasured and adored dog, Jake; whom her father now cares for. Sarah was a bright and intelligent young woman who excelled with high test scores and a strong reading level. Sarah graduated from Augusta Christian School in 2014 and is alumna of Georgia Military College. As a young adult Sarah was an extremely hard worker in the food service industry at several Augusta restaurants where she saved up enough money to purchase her own car and take care of herself. As she moved on from serving she pursued her passion of fashion and beauty working as an esthetician and makeup artist. Sarah had a keen eye for style and design that she used to assist others in looking their best. She helped others shine with brow and nail treatments, hair stylings, and make-up beautification. On May 9th, 2021 while living in Atlanta, Georgia, Sarah gave birth to her most precious to her heart daughter: Savannah Alexis Elisabeth Cheshire. Sarah loved to gift Savannah with toys, dolls, and toddler-size instruments. She lived to read to her and play with her. They shared many hugs and had a sweet, tender and loving relationship. Sarah will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and willingness to help her others. She charmed then made friends with anyone she spoke with and would give the shirt off her back to help even a complete stranger if they needed it. Sarah's generous spirit lives on as she donated her kidneys and liver to the Kentucky Organ Donor Association. Sarah was saluted by the entire Baptist Health Hospital staff as her body was transported through the halls with family by her side for the Honor Walk on her way to help strangers once again. Within a few days Sarah helped save lives with successful implementation of her organs. Sarah's memory and legacy will live on through the organ recipients she saved, her beautiful and beloved daughter, her close family, and her loyal friends. Sarah was baptized in the blood of Jesus Christ and those that know Sarah know she is rejoicing in heaven while looking over and protecting her loved ones. I
