I would like to introduce The Filyaw Family, proud father Adam, devoted mother Amber, then we have Elijah, LeeLand, Ember, Silas, and Sammie.

On December 3rd, 2024, so very unexpectedly, our dear sweet boy Sammie took Jesus' hand and went home.

Sammie was a true warrior and a true hero. From the moment he arrived in this world, from doctors and specialists, we were told to prepare for the worst. Days turned into nights, minutes seemed like hours. Through many tears and sleepless nights, Sammie prevailed. Sammie beat the odds. For 16 glorious months, we were amazed at the strength and determination this warrior showed.

When things got tough and it seemed like everyone gave up, Adam and Amber fought even harder to advocate for Sammie. Endless trips to Charleston, Columbia, Sumter, all the while loving and caring for the siblings.

But Sammie got tired; his little body just wasn't able to keep up. Sammie asked Jesus to take him home. He left this world in the safety of his mother's arms. He ascended to heaven with the Lord and now he is free of any pain, free of any struggle. God is good. God had a different plan for our sweet boy.

My son and daughter are just defeated. Their hearts are just shattered. The Filyaws just want their baby back; what a hard conversation that was.

We are asking for donations for this family in their time of need. All proceeds will help with funeral costs and groceries and gas as they navigate through this difficult time.
