In Memory of Salvador Medina: Support His Loved Ones

It hurts to even write this, because Salvador Medina, “Yeye”, "Sal", or “Jay” to those who loved him, was truly the best person we’ve ever known. He was only 35 years old when he was taken from us in a tragic car accident, and no words will ever be enough to explain how deeply this loss cuts. Yeye was the kind of person you only meet once in a lifetime, if you’re lucky. He was a devoted husband to Brenda, the proudest father to Valeria(15) and Delilah(8), a loving son, an amazing brother, best uncle, and a loyal friend. He loved his family with everything he had, and he gave everything he had, every single day.

Yeye worked hard. For his kids. For his wife. For his future. He earned everything with sweat, heart, and hustle. And yet, he never complained. Never once. Even when things got hard, he kept smiling. That smile, it was the kind that made you feel better just by seeing it. That’s who he was. Pure love, pure joy, pure light. He loved his life, his daughters, his dogs, his people, his LAFC family. He showed up with energy, with laughter, with a story to tell. He could make you laugh so hard you'd cry. He made everyone feel seen, heard, and loved.

He carried all of us, without asking for credit, without expecting anything in return. He made hard times feel lighter. He made regular days feel special. Our family doesn’t just feel different without him. It is different. There's a hole now where his light used to shine, and it’s hard to breathe knowing he’s gone. But we will never let that light go out. We will carry his name with pride. We will raise his daughters in the love he gave so freely. And we will never stop telling his stories, hearing his laugh in our memories, or seeing his smile in our dreams.

This fund is for the people he loved most, his girls, Valeria and Delilah and wife Brenda. It’s a way for all of us to give back a piece of what Yeye gave to us. To help carry the family he built with everything he had. He deserved so much more. And though our hearts are broken, his spirit will never be gone. Yeye will always be with us. We miss you jay and we would do anything to have you back. We are completely broken. There are no words big enough to describe the pain we’re feeling. Losing Yeye has shattered us in ways we didn’t know were possible. He wasn’t just a part of our family, he was the center of it. Every room feels emptier, every day feels heavier. His laughter used to fill our homes; now there’s a silence we don’t know how to live with. We wake up hoping it’s just a nightmare, but the truth hits us over and over again. We weren’t ready to say goodbye, none of us ever could be. The love we have for him is endless, and so is the grief. Our hearts are aching, and we are struggling to imagine a world without his voice, his hugs, his smile, his light. We miss him more than words will ever explain.
