My name is Brooklyn and I am a grandchild of Salvacion E. Torres. It is with profound grief that I share the news of her passing on June 23, 2023 at the age of 82. Mama was diagnosed with terminal stage 4 pancreatic cancer and we were given a heartbreaking prognosis of sharing five more months together. Tragically, Mama passed within only few weeks due to such rapid progression of her cancer. I am reaching out to you, our dear family, friends, and community, in hope of support as we navigate this incredibly painful time.

Mama immigrated from the Philippines in the 1950s and grew her family in San Francisco. She is deeply loved by her late husband, two children, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, three sisters and two brothers, as well as her many aunts/uncles, nieces/nephews, cousins, and good friends. The process of losing her so quickly to this world has been excruciating for all of us, as I am sure it is to any of you who had the honor of knowing our Mama.

My family and I are immensely grateful for any contribution you can make. Thank you to everyone reaching out with your love and kind words. Your compassion, generosity, and support mean more to us than words can express.
