Sai Manikantesh – A Call for Support to Send Him Home

It is with profound sadness that we share the heart-breaking news of the passing of Sai Manikantesh, a bright and gentle soul from Guntur, India, who passed away in the UK on April 4th, 2025, at just 29 years old.

Sai arrived in the UK full of dreams and determination, hoping to build a better future for himself and his beloved family. A quiet and humble soul, he was pursuing a Master’s degree in Data Analytics at the University of Hertfordshire. Those who knew him speak of his gentle nature, inner strength, and the deep love he had for his mother and younger sister, Ruchita.

But life took a devastating turn. What began as a sudden episode of nausea and vomiting led to a shocking diagnosis—a brain haemorrhage that left Sai bedridden. In the blink of an eye, a young life full of promise was halted.

Despite undergoing multiple brain surgeries and a long, uncertain rehabilitation, Sai faced every challenge with remarkable resilience. He was later moved to a long-term care centre, where signs of recovery brought renewed hope to his family and those around him. Even through pain and silence, he never stopped fighting.

Sadly, on April 1st, 2025, Sai developed aspiration and was admitted to Northwick Park Hospital with dangerously low oxygen levels. He was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia, and despite all medical efforts, he passed away on April 4th, 2025, at 8:05 PM.

Sai is survived by his mother, a single parent who raised both her children with strength and sacrifice after the loss of their father, and by his younger sister Ruchita, who is now about to complete her education. She now faces this heart-breaking loss at a critical juncture in her life, and the grief is immeasurable.

The family is devastated by this tragedy.

A fundraiser has been created to help repatriate Sai’s body to India, so that his final rites can be performed in his homeland with dignity and surrounded by loved ones. The funds will also be used to provide vital support to his grieving mother, who has not only lost her beloved son but also faces an uncertain future with mounting emotional and financial burdens.

On behalf of Sai’s family, we humbly ask for your compassion and generosity during this painful time. Any contribution, however small, will go a long way in bringing Sai home and helping his mother and sister find some comfort and stability in their time of grief.

Thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your support.
