Help Us Honor Our Dad, Russell Wikoff
Hello everyone,
It’s with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dad, Russell Wikoff, who passed away at just 45 years old. He was an incredible family man and a proud U.S. Army veteran who served his country with honor.
Four weeks ago, he was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic esophageal cancer, which had overtaken vital organs by the time it was discovered. Despite his strength, courage, and unwavering determination to stay with his family, this aggressive illness took him from us far too soon.
When he was diagnosed, he was in the process of switching jobs, and his new health insurance hadn’t yet taken effect. The initial hospitals he went to weren’t equipped to treat his advanced cancer—the tumor had grown beyond surgical removal, and doctors told us he needed cutting-edge treatment beyond their capabilities. Unbeknownst to us all, valuable time was lost during those early visits as we sought the right care.
After applying for emergency Medi-Cal, he was transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. We were hopeful for more time and were preparing for his first round of chemotherapy that morning, but sadly, he passed away before treatment could begin. His sudden illness has left us with unexpected expenses, including hospital bills and cremation costs.
We’d be so grateful for any support for the upcoming expenses. Anything you can offer—whether through a donation or by sharing this post—to help us honor the amazing man he was.
Thank you for your love and kindness during this difficult time.
With all of our love,
Isaiah, Theresa, and Evan Wikoff
